I've been releasing electronic music as Rico Casazza since 2007, and as AZARYC from 2026 — a big body of work spanning many genres on vinyl, digital and cassette, moving between Minimal, Techno and Electro/IDM to Trip Hop, Downtempo and Ambient. I've played as a DJ and live act across Europe, Mexico, India and the US — including Fabric London, Boiler Room Goa, DGTL Festival Mumbai, and many clubs worldwide.
Alongside producing my own music, this journey has led me to compose music for films, thanks to my side quest as a sound designer for moving pictures — I've won two awards for film sound design and hold a Master's degree in Filmmaking (Sound Recording, Post-production & Design) from Goldsmiths, University of London.
All of that goes into how I teach. I've been sharing Ableton Live tutorials on YouTube since 2021, and I now teach students worldwide in English, Spanish and Italian. You're not learning from someone who only teaches — you're learning from someone who has been breathing electronic music culture for almost twenty years.

Stop fighting the software. Foundations
Sessions 1–2We set up your template and workflow, and get a loop that already sounds like the records you're aiming at.
Sound & drums
Sessions 3–5You stop relying on packs. We build your own kits, patches and processing chains so your tracks start sounding like you.
Arrangement
Sessions 6–8The loop becomes a track: intro, tension, breakdown, drop — and the decisions that keep it moving for six minutes.
Mix & release
Sessions 9–10We mix, master and export. You finish with a track that's ready to send to labels or put out yourself.
The pace is yours. Some students run one session a week, others spread them out over months — the path stays the same.
Film sound design — a subject of its own.
This isn't a plug-in inside your Ableton workflow — it's a separate discipline, with its own tools and deliverables. You can sketch cinematic textures in Ableton, but a real film mix runs on Pro Tools: opening AAF files from an editor, conforming audio to picture, and exporting stems a re-recording mixer can actually use. I teach that side of the craft too, built around the two feature films I've scored and sound-designed.
Dialogue editing
Cleaning, conforming and editing dialogue so every line sits where the picture needs it.
Foley
Recording and cutting the footsteps, cloth and props that sell a scene's physical world.
Location & ambience recording
Capturing real-world sound with microphones, in the field or in session.
Ambience placement
Building the space around a scene, so silence never actually reads as silence.
Score & source mixing
Blending music into a scene without it fighting the dialogue for space.

FAQ
How do online Ableton Live lessons work?
Sessions run live over a video call with screen sharing. We work inside your own Ableton Live project in real time — sometimes I'm at the keyboard, sometimes you are, depending on what the session calls for. You need the latest Ableton Live installed for sharing projects, and a stable internet connection. If you don't have the latest version, that's fine, but if I work on your project you won't be able to open the file I send back — I can always send you the stems instead. Every session is recorded so you can go back over it.
Do I need any prior experience?
Not really. Classes are built around your level — whether you're opening Ableton for the first time or you're already releasing music and want to sharpen your skills.
What languages do you teach in?
I speak English, Spanish and Italian — pretty much a global globe-trotter :)
What equipment do I need?
A computer with Ableton Live — ideally the latest edition — headphones, a stable internet connection for audio and video streaming, and a Discord account. Studio monitors aren't required for the lesson. An audio interface helps but isn't required either. If you're on an older edition of Live, let me know before the session — project files aren't always forward- or backward-compatible between editions, so we may need to plan around that.
What genres do you teach?
My own background spans Minimal, Techno, House, IDM, Electro, Braindance, Jungle, Ambient, Downtempo, Trip Hop, Hip Hop and EBM, plus film composition, soundtrack work and cinematic sound design. The workflow, sound design and mixing principles carry across genres — but if you make something very far from electronic music, say so and I'll tell you honestly whether I'm the right teacher for it.
What time zone are you in?
I work on Central European Time (CET) and teach students across the world — we'll find a slot that works for your time zone.
Is the intro call really free?
Yes — 20 minutes, no cost, no obligation. It's how I make sure we're a good match before anyone pays for anything. We'll talk about what you're working on, where you're stuck, and what a sensible plan would look like. If I'm not the right teacher for you, I'll say so on that call.
